projects Alba UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy

Projects UNESCO Creative Cities – it is a network for inclusive urban design and international cooperation: the UNESCO initiative aims to encourage and facilitate collaboration between cities that identify creativity, cultural diversity, sustainable urban development and the promotion of local heritage as the key elements for successful development.

Founded in 2004 by UNESCO, the network is expanding rapidly: it currently consists of more than 100 members from over 50 countries worldwide, each with its own creative focus (Literature, Music, Gastronomy, Film, Design, Arts and Crafts, Cinema).

The City of Alba, traditionally and currently active in the wine and food sector in its broadest sense: sensory, commercial, social and industrial (cf. Truffle Fair, Wines of the Langhe, Slow Food Movement, Ferrero S.p.A., etc.), joined the UNESCO network in the creative field of Gastronomy in 2017. BIA supervised its application, developing its communication strategy and coordinated image, gathering and fostering the support of public and private stakeholders in the area, and coordinating the drafting of the Application Dossier and its presentation to the UNESCO Committees.

Since 2018, again for the Municipality of Alba, BIA has been in charge of the development of two strategic projects contained in the successful Application Dossier.
